Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Guests often appreciate the Shibden Mill Inn's peaceful location, making it convenient for visiting Shibden Hall with a pleasant walk. The hotel offers a traditional pub atmosphere alongside modern twists, and some have particularly enjoyed dining outside when the weather is favorable, thanks to the availability of heaters in the evening. Dinner and breakfast receive high praise, with homemade cookies and Emma's homemade muesli and jams adding a special touch; however, a few guests found certain dishes, particularly those served on Sundays, to be overly salty or lacking in flavor. Rooms are generally considered spacious, and the free car park next to a small stream adds to the overall convenience.

Acceptable Experience

superb dinnergreat breakfastsuperb hospitalitysmall portionssalty baconsalted broccoli
Lucy welcomed me upon arrival and escorted me to my room. Dinner and breakfast were superb. The inn offers superb hospitality from the bar staff to the housekeeping ladies.
The portion sizes were small. The food was salty, especially the bacon wrapped around the sausages. What was brought to the table was a portion of boiled over salted broccoli (it didn't even have a sauce or dressing).

Mixed Feelings After My Visit

overpowering mashwatery cheese
The meal really detracted from the experience. Foccacia and butters were nice to start.. but my pie of the day had a mustard mash so overpowering I could barely taste the blue cheese. My partner's beef lacked imagination. The cauliflower cheese tasted watery, not at all what I expected for a birthday dinner.

Nice Getaway Experience

lucy welcomed US, showing us to our divine room and explaining the amenities. Dinner and breakfast met our high expectations, displaying really good hospitality. Homemade cookies, beautifully presented coffees and teas, with Emma's homemade muesli and jams were all included. featherblade beef, duck, and local cheeses tasted excellent. walks nearby the Borough Market, The Piece Hall, and Shibden Hall were enjoyable.
food was not up to the standard, particularly considering the price point. Each dish seemed to contain an excessive amount of SALT. I felt the mains lacked balance and coordination in flavors, diminishing the overall dining experience.
